Mark Merlanti concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, construction law, contract drafting and review, shareholder disputes, landlord-tenant, accounts receivable management, collections and employee restrictive covenant matters. He is a regular speaker for the Construction Association of Michigan and has presented seminars for the Michigan Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Merlanti is a member of the Construction Lien Committee of the Real Property Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
He authored Stokes v Millen Roofing Co.: The Michigan Supreme Court Puts Teeth Back Into The Residential Builders Act's Prohibition Against Suits for Compensation by Unlicensed Residential Contractors, Michigan Real Property Review, Spring 2003.
He has been admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan as well as all State Courts in Michigan. His Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with honors, was received from Michigan State University in 1980 and his Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University in 1983.
